Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of Hopkins County Criminal History. Browsing its content, using a search feature, or visiting any part of the site indicates acceptance of these terms. A person who does not agree with them must stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. Hopkins County Criminal History is privately operated and has no connection to a local, Kentucky, or federal government agency. This site and its advertising partners do not provide tools for credit decisions, employment screening, tenant screening, insurance eligibility, or any other purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site identifies criminal-record resources in Hopkins County, Kentucky. It is neither a private investigation service nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

Hopkins County Criminal History is a private reference site, independent of every government office. It does not maintain official files, obtain records on a visitor’s behalf, conduct an official background check, or submit court or agency documents for anyone.

The site directs readers to record custodians and research channels. These include Hopkins County law-enforcement offices, District and Circuit courts, the Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, Kentucky Court of Justice background-check services, and the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also contain third-party search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on compliance with these limits. A visitor must not:

  • Use the site in violation of federal, Kentucky, or local law
  • Stalk, threaten, or harass a person with information obtained here
  • Rely on site content for employment, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any account, server, system, or restricted feature
  • Send scrapers, bots, or other automated collection tools through the pages
  • Interfere with site operation or prevent another visitor from gaining access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information from Hopkins County Criminal History or a linked tool to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against another person. Such conduct may also violate the law. This restriction is especially important for Kentucky Sex Offender Registry information. Registry data serves public safety and community awareness. It does not authorize vigilantism, threats, employment blacklisting, housing discrimination, or any other misuse against a registrant.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Hopkins County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Its advertising partners likewise do not offer site tools for evaluating applicants, rental applications, insurance risk, or creditworthiness. Information from this site or any linked tool must not be used to:

  • Make an employment or termination decision
  • Evaluate a tenant, renter, or housing applicant
  • Set insurance terms or assess a person’s creditworthiness
  • Determine eligibility for a permit, license, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

When a regulated purpose requires a background check, use an authorized official channel or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA and all applicable law.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. Explanations about Hopkins County records cannot determine how a pending charge, conviction, warrant, or Kentucky expungement rule affects an individual matter. A licensed Kentucky attorney can provide advice about specific rights, facts, and deadlines.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are offered “as is.” No warranty is made that:

  • Any information will remain complete, accurate, or current
  • The site will always be available or operate without interruption
  • Pages and systems will contain no defects, errors, or security weaknesses
  • A partner search tool will return a complete or correct result

Criminal records can change when a charge is filed, amended, dismissed, sealed, or expunged. Delays and gaps may remain even when site content is updated. Nothing published here is an official statement by a court, sheriff, police department, Kentucky State Police, or another public body.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to Hopkins County offices, Kentucky agencies, court portals, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Those destinations operate independently. Hopkins County Criminal History does not control their availability, content, prices, privacy practices, or data handling and accepts no responsibility for them. Review the destination’s own terms before proceeding.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code are owned by Hopkins County Criminal History or its content partners. No one may reproduce, distribute, alter, or create derivative material from that content without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hopkins County Criminal History is not responsible for damages arising from site use, linked services, or actions taken in reliance on information obtained through either source.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to indemnify and hold Hopkins County Criminal History harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by that user’s conduct, misuse of the site, or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Kentucky law governs these terms. Any proceeding or dispute arising from use of Hopkins County Criminal History must be brought in a court located in Kentucky.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when the updated language is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in force. The affected provision will be limited or modified only to the extent needed for enforcement.
